You know that we exercise at home every day...right? All the work at home moms know what I'm talking about...walking up and down stairs, cleaning around the house, lifting stuff (when cleaning), and other house chores - all can be considered exercise... However, that's when you're working at keeping things in order around the house...now you want to head off to the gym and take part in an exercise program led by instructors that know their stuff! Well, hang on...here's some great news - head off to your computer and visit

where they too realize you lead a busy life (you're still going to exercise at home though). demandFITNESS offers professionally-developed fitness classes with certified instructors that offer quality content. The classes, which not only inspires healthy living, also educates people on how to exercise and eat properly. I did promise you 10 exercise routine ideas when you exercise at home - so here they are...drum roll please...they are: - Make space infront of the t.v. and workout to an exercise DVD. For example, an abs workout or cardiovascular workout.
- Lying on your back (on your workout mat), curls can be done by putting your hands behind your head and raising the upper body.
- Leg exercises. This exercise can be achieved by either standing while holding on to the back of a chair or lying down on your side and lifting each leg for a number of repetitions.
- Here's one for all you work at home moms who sit for hours at the computer desk! You can perform this exercise to keep the circulation flowing in your legs. How? you ask...simply press down on your toes then raise and lower in an up and down motion (this "sitting down" exercise will prevent muscular pain later).
- Don't forget about the stretching exercises! They're essential so stand with both hands against a wall and move your right leg back so that your foot is flat against the floor. Easy enough...now hold for a few seconds then repeat with the left leg.
- Now for some arm exercises that are important to improve your muscle tone. You can use an exercise band and place both feet on one end and with each hand raise and lower the band...first with your palms up then down.
- Go put on your favorite CD and dance for about 20-30 minutes. Yup...this is a great cardiovascular workout! (click here to read more on working out 20-30 minutes a day)
- Weightlifting! Well, you'll only be using 5 or 10 lbs. weights to exercise your arms (not pumping iron like the hulk). You can just do this exercise sitting in a chair.
- Incorporate some sit-ups, jump rope, and push-ups into that daily exercise routine of yours.
- And last, another great stretching exercise is to lie on your back, bring up your right knee to your chest with your right hand and roll the knee to your left side so that it touches the floor (keep it in place with your left hand). Then again but with the left knee.
So there you have it, exercises done at home not at the gym! Always remember, stretch before starting your exercise routine to prevent injury. [top] ...click here to go to Exercise Information ...click here to go from exercise at home to the Home Page
