Being More Active Everyday
Here's a fitness tip - it says that we should exercise at least 30 minutes a day … every day! However, (get this) it doesn’t have to be in a 30 minute block. By incorporating small bits of activity or exercise routines throughout the day also helps (5 minutes here, 10 minutes there). hint: Add movement to your every day tasks to increase your activity level because it burns calories without you realizing it! Here are some ideas to help you get active: - Do some crunches in the morning before you even crawl out of bed.
- Walk to the store for those few items you need.
- Dance while you sweep the floor.
- Walk in place (or on the treadmill), or hit the ground and do some crunches, or perhaps yoga exercises while watching your “can’t miss” television show (how long is that show…30 minutes?).
- Fidget! Yah, fidget…if you can do nothing else. Calories burned if you're a busy body, believe it or not, burns lots of calories and can have you in a constant state of motion (when your at work, in the car, or waiting in line).
